During the holiday season, Joyce University’s Student Council kicked off a food drive with a goal to collect 500 pounds of food to benefit the Utah Food Bank.
The Utah Food Bank helps fight hunger statewide, and last year (2021), they distributed 70.2 million pounds of food which equated to 58.5 million meals.
Joyce University collected donations from November 2nd through December 16th. Students competed against Faculty and Staff to see who could collect the most food donations by the deadline. Teams were invited to include family, friends, and the community to help raise donations. Students won the challenge, raising the majority of food donations, but together Joyce Students and Faculty raised nearly 700 pounds of food!
Donation barrels for each team were available in the Joyce University campus atrium for in-kind donations.

There were two ways to contribute to our Holiday Food Drive. In addition to in-kind donations which were made at our Draper campus in Utah, we also accepted monetary donations.
