Dr. Whitehead teaches pathophysiology and anatomy courses at Joyce University.
Dr. Whitehead was a registered nurse for 16 years in a variety of areas including ER, ICU, pediatrics, case management, cardiac care, and GI. She is now a Family Nurse Practitioner and specializes in pediatrics.
Dr. Whitehead volunteers as a member of the Utah County Search and Rescue and was awarded Rookie of the Year for outstanding skills and leadership ability. She also takes part in Humanitize Expeditions to Guatemala.
Dr. Whitehead’s favorite part of her job is helping students understand difficult concepts so that they can be successful. She loves working with students and learning from them and their diverse backgrounds. She says that this makes her a better person and clinician.
Dr. Whitehead has an ASN and BSN from Utah Valley University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University, and a Doctorate of Nurse Practice from the University of Utah. She is a family nurse practitioner.
Dr. Whitehead loves to hike with her family and practice martial arts. She also recently started taking violin and loves to dabble in learning new languages.
