Cynthia Bain teaches Introduction to Professional Nursing Identity, Nursing Care of the Older Adult, and Fundamentals of Professional Nursing.
Cynthia Bain is a certified nurse educator and has worked in nursing education since 1987. She has taught VN, ADN, BSN, and RN-BSN nursing students, and has taught graduates in NCLEX review courses. She also worked as a hospital staff development educator.
Cynthia has 15 years of clinical experience in ICU/ER, medical-surgical and long-term care settings.
Cynthia Bain is a long-standing member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, the Nurses Christian Fellowship, and the National League of Nursing. She has presented at several conferences, including Sigma Theta Tau International, STTI Founders Day, and the Drexel University Technologic Innovations in Nursing Education Conference.
Cynthia has mentored a long list of students and nurses, has received numerous awards in nursing education, and regularly participates in volunteer and service outreach.
Cynthia is enthusiastic about teaching student nurses to bring their absolute best selves when growing into competent nurses. She uses the philosophy of belongingness to optimize student learning which improves outcomes. Cynthia is best known for teaching students to “leave the patient better than you found them.”
Her favorite part of the job is mentoring and supporting students to be excellent and caring future nurses.
Cynthia Bain has an associate degree in nursing from Central Texas College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler, and a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Walden University.
Cynthia enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also loves scuba diving, reading, swimming, motorcycle riding with her husband, and travel.
