Dr. Salib-Barrios is an associate professor in the nursing department.
Dr. Maggie Salib-Barrios has been involved in nursing education since 2020. She has experience teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses.
Dr. Maggie Salib Barrios began her nursing career in 2014, primarily working in postpartum care during her time in bedside nursing. She became a family nurse practitioner in 2018 and practices in family medicine, urgent care, and telemedicine.
Dr. Salib-Barrios belongs to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is an active member of the Junior League of New Orleans. She also provides mentorship through The Florida State University ProfessioNOLE Mentor program as well as the University of Calgary, School of Nursing Alumni Mentorship program.
Dr. Maggie Salib-Barrios’ favorite part of being a educator is having the opportunity to inspire and shape the next generation of healthcare providers. Witnessing students’ enthusiasm, dedication, and eventual success in their academic and clinical pursuits rewards her and reinforces her passion for education.
Dr. Maggie Salib-Barrios has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Florida, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Calgary, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from The Florida State University.
Dr. Salib-Barrios enjoys spending time with her family and trying new restaurants.
