Dr. Codi Alderson is an associate professor of nursing in the simulation labs.
Dr. Alderson taught nursing at Western Wyoming Community College for six years. There she discovered her passion for nursing simulations.
Dr. Alderson began her nursing career in 2011, spending three years working in the operating room, ten years in the emergency department, and three years as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE).
Dr. Codi Alderson belongs to the Wyoming Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
She has also served on the Annual ReNEW Summit Education Seminar for all Community Colleges in Wyoming and the University of Wyoming, the Great Teacher Society Committee, and the Employee Development Recognition Committee. She also co-chaired the Student Nurse Association at Western Wyoming Community College.
Dr. Alderson loves being part of a student’s nursing journey, especially watching them develop clinical judgment and other skills. Her favorite part of the job is running simulations. She enjoys helping students develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a safe environment.
Dr. Alderson has an associate degree in criminal justice from Western Wyoming Community College, a Bachelor of Criminal Justice from the University of Wyoming, a Master of Forensic Science from National University, an associate degree in nursing from Western Wyoming Community College, and a Master of Science in Nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Grand Canyon University.
Dr. Codi Alderson loves spending time outdoors, especially hiking and camping. She also loves to travel and read.
