Daniel oversees international clinical experiences for pre and post-licensure nursing as well as OTA students.
Daniel began working in nursing education in 2020 with Joyce University. He initially was a clinical instructor before leading the international clinical program.
Daniel Wakamatsu has been a nurse since 2010. His career experience includes inpatient medicine/oncology, acute rehabilitation, dermatology (advanced practice), and public health.
Daniel served as a lead public health nurse with the Salt Lake County Health Department during the COVID-19 response. During his time with the Veterans Health Administration, he helped implement initiatives that increased access to dermatology services for underserved veterans in rural northern California. He occasionally serves as a guest speaker for local refugee groups and assists with various community health events.
Daniel Wakamatsu received a BSN from the University of Utah in 2010, later receiving a MSN (2012) and DNP (2014) with a family nurse practitioner emphasis from the University of San Francisco.
