Dr. Dooley teaches lectures on mental health nursing.
Dr. Dooley has been a nursing educator since 2014. She has been an academic didactic and clinical instructor, lab coordinator, clinical coordinator, and preceptor.
Dr. Dooley worked in hospitals as a bedside nurse, nurse manager, and nurse educator for over 25 years. She has experience in medical/surgical, oncology, pediatrics, maternal/child, community health, occupational medicine, and home health nursing.
Dr. Dooley belongs to the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses, and the National League for Nursing.
Dr. Dooley’s favorite part of working with students is sharing the passion for nursing that she has developed over 30 years. It’s the most rewarding experience to be an integral part of developing the skills and knowledge it takes to be a great nurse. Her favorite part of the job is the overall culture at Joyce University, which is focused on providing the best health science education in an environment structured for optimal learning and student support.
Dr. Dooley has a BSN from William Paterson University, an MSN in healthcare administration and nursing education, and a DNP in nursing education from Regis College.
When time allows, Dr. Dooley is a hobbyist. She takes great pleasure in learning new and exciting pastimes like painting and jewelry making.
