Dr. Shaunte Pohl teaches pharmacology courses at Joyce University.
Dr. Shaunte Pohl has taught in the health sciences since 2008. She has taught pharmacy students, nursing students, and clinical psychology students.
Dr. Pohl has been a clinical pharmacist since 2007. Before that, she worked as a pharmacy technician and a pharmacy intern. She started her career as a mental health pharmacist in the VA system, connecting mental health and primary care clinics.
Dr. Shaunte Pohl has served on committees for the Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy and the North Chicago VA Medical Center. She is a member of the American Society of Health System Pharmacist. Dr. Pohl currently serves as the president of her local elementary school’s parent teacher organization and additionally serves as a member of the Teach and Learning Council for her local public school district. Additionally, Dr. Pohl serves on the General Education Policy and Procedures Committee at Joyce University.
Dr. Shaunte Pohl enjoys watching students grow in confidence as they apply their new knowledge in clinical situations. She enjoys seeing students connect “book learning” to real life. She finds it encouraging to have a student come back and mention that they used something from class to make a difference with a patient.
Dr. Shaunte Pohl has a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Butler University.
Dr. Pohl is a Barre instructor. She enjoys hiking and reading.
