Dr. Jennifer Groh is a nursing instructor at Joyce University.
Dr. Jennifer Groh began a role as a health occupational educator in 2007, helping high school juniors and seniors work toward CNA qualifications. In 2011, she began teaching nursing students in LPN, ASN, BSN, LPN-BSN, ASN-BSN, a-BSN, and MSN programs. She has also found opportunities to educate nursing students, new nurses, patients, and families in her clinical roles. For Dr. Groh, education and nursing are intertwined.
Dr. Jennifer Groh began her nursing career in 2003. Her true specialties are pediatric and neonatal intensive care, but she has also worked in burn, cardiovascular, cardiac, cardiothoracic, and neurotrauma ICUs. She has also worked in hospices, urgent cares, LTACH (acute critical care hospitals), and nursing homes. She also has extensive experience as a travel nurse in freestanding pediatric hospitals, adult ICUs, and pediatric ICUs.
Dr. Jennifer Groh volunteers with the Boys and Girls Club of Springfield, Missouri and serves as the financial bookkeeper for the Heart of the Ozarks branch of the Sertoma organization. She also volunteers with Beaks-n-Wings, a parrot foster and adoption foundation.
Dr. Jennifer Groh loves what she does and does what she loves. She enjoys connecting with her students, sharing knowledge, and watching their nursing knowledge click in. Seeing student growth through semesters, graduation, and progressing nursing careers fulfills her. Helping her students understand concepts brings her happiness. Many of her past students return and update on their career progress, and it makes her smile to know that they still think of her.
Dr. Jennifer Groh has an associate degree and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Cox College. She has a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Missouri State University. She has two doctoral degrees from Northcentral University — one in philosophy and education with an e-learning specialty and one in health administration.
Dr. Groh and her husband have a small hobby farm. They enjoy walking their property, talking, and playing with their grandbabies. She also enjoys road trips, and makes YouTube videos about her adventures.
