Dr. Kara Potter is a nursing professor teaching didactic courses at Joyce University.
Dr. Kara Potter has been a nursing instructor since 2004. She has created online and in-person training programs and taught online and in-person courses, as well as simulations.
Dr. Potter has been a nurse since 2000. Her clinical experience includes telemetry, medical-surgical, wound care, and pediatrics.
Dr. Kara Potter has volunteered with the Stowe Rescue Squad, humanitarian efforts from San Jose State University, Operation Crossroads, and Los Médicos Voladores. She currently volunteers with Achieve Tahoe and the Nevada State Simulation Resource Team, of which she is a founding member.
Dr. Kara Potter is focused on student success. Her favorite part of working with students is seeing them succeed and overcome challenges.
Dr. Kara Potter has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Norwich University, a Master of Science in Nursing and Family Nursing Practice from San Jose State University, a post-master’s certificate in nursing education, and a doctorate in nursing from Walden University.
In her free time, Dr. Potter likes to ski, surf, hike, camp, and travel.
