As one of the Lead Clinical Supervisors and a clinical instructor, Kirk Roberts advocates for students and faculty doing clinicals at various clinical sites.
Kirk Roberts worked at Joyce (formerly Ameritech College) as a clinical instructor for 2 years before taking a travel assignment to Los Angeles. He’s glad to be back at Joyce University in his current role as Lead Clinical Supervisor. During his BSN at Brigham Young University, he taught Anatomy Lab for 3 years. He has also been the emergency room capstone preceptor for students at Jordan Valley West Emergency Room. Kirk also takes a daily experiential nursing students at Jordan Valley West Hospital in the ER. Kirk was also a presenter with the Nursing Speaking Bureau where he did presentations about new evidence-based research in the nursing field.
Kirk has been an acute care nurse since 1998. He has worked in the Emergency Room for the past 21 years and recently returned from a travel assignment in Compton, Los Angeles in Emergency Medicine at St Francis Medical Center. Kirk worked emergency medicine and gastroenterology together for 16 years until he got his FNP. He currently works in the ER every other weekend at Jordan Valley West.
Kirk Roberts collaborates in a Granger High School coalition called Invest in Our Future. He also volunteers with his church and has participated in humanitarian expeditions to Colombia, Venezuela, Honduras, and Costa Rica. His most recent humanitarian trip was with Youthlinc where they went to Thailand. Kirk will be going to humanitarian work in Peru to villages on the Amazon in 2024.
Kirk Roberts loves seeing his students’ enthusiasm and their drive to be great nurses. He loves seeing them be engaged and willing to learn. His favorite part of the job is helping students see the opportunities and realities of the nursing profession. He loves educating about engagement and finding fulfillment in life pursuits. Kirk believes in teaching transparency and realism to help students know the good and the challenges that nursing professionals might encounter.
Kirk Roberts has a BSN from Brigham Young University, a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and an MSN (FNP) from Maryville University. Kirk also has licenses in finance and investing with FINRA.
Kirk is all about traveling and investing. He does a lot of humanitarian work, loves to hike, and is an avid coin collector. Kirk loves everything Caribbean and has a home in Barranquilla Colombia where he loves to visit and explore Colombia.
