Tonya Patterson is a Simulation Education Specialist at Joyce University.
Tonya Patterson has been a nurse since 2006. She has experience in medical/surgical nursing, home health, and behavioral and mental health nursing.
Tonya enjoys helping students to think for themselves and progress from focusing on concerns to focusing on solutions. In her teaching she portrays what nursing might be like in real-world situations — things never go exactly as planned, and being able to adjust and adapt to what is actually happening is a critical skill for nurses and for life in general.
Tonya has an ASN from Utah Valley University and a BSN and MSN from Joyce University.
Tonya has diverse interests. In warm weather, she enjoys the outdoors. She likes hiking, cooking, cleaning/organizing, sewing, doing chores with audiobooks, playing games, going to the theater, and more.
