The MSN program prepares graduates for specialized practice in executive nursing leadership or nursing education, using a holistic and scholarly approach to advanced nursing practice. Students will develop nursing competencies relevant to their specialty and complete a quality improvement capstone project.
Our MSN program is a total of 32 credit hours, comprising 15 credit hours of core nursing leadership courses, and 17 credit hours of specialty courses in the student’s chosen track. The program is completed over 3 semesters or one year of full-time study. Coursework is delivered in a flexible asynchronous online format with indirect and direct-care clinical hours.
Each MSN student will complete a total of 270 clinical hours, with 225 indirect hours of clinical in the concentrated courses and 45 direct care clinical hours in the core course. Clinical hours are completed in approved clinical settings under the supervision of an approved expert preceptor. Students will complete an immersive capstone project during their final semester that connects classroom knowledge with real-world applications.
